We are proud to celebrate being chosen by Southern Maine Midcoast Chamber as the 2020 Small business of the year. Thank you to our community and our staff for helping to make this happen.
A huge congratulations to Alison Lorenz on her new position as Managing Director.
Over the past 30 years, One River CPAs has established itself as an industry leader in Maine. Hard work and a vision for the future have allowed the firm to consistently grow and become known for their attention to detail and excellence in the field. This new leadership role represents the firm’s desire to continue to produce high quality work as well as grow and develop advisory relationships. With these goals in mind, One River CPAs is excited to announce Alison Lorenz’s promotion to managing director.
As she begins her new role with One River CPAs, Alison will design a vision for the firm and create a clear pathway to get them there. A key component to her vision is utilizing advancements in technology. Alison believes that technology has made the accounting profession much more dynamic and, “as artificial intelligence becomes more mainstream and software capabilities increase, our roles as accountants will change significantly”. She appreciates that the firm has always been on the front end of technology and wants to keep this momentum going in order to develop a deeper knowledge base that will add value for clients and develop stronger advisory relationships.
Alison is one of only a few women to hold this title in accounting firms across Maine. When reflecting on her success, she believes that her desire to learn and understand new concepts has helped her excel in the profession. Her determination to continually adapt and learn how to grow a business in an ever-changing industry has landed her right where One River CPAs needs her: Managing Partner.
Congratulations to Sarah Wadick on her new position!
One River CPAs is proud to announce Sarah’s growth in our company with her promotion to Firm Administrator. Through her time with us, Sarah has developed an in-depth knowledge of our client base and demonstrated the level headedness and fairness needed of any successful business administrator.
Sarah joined One River CPAs in August of 2002 after working three years in public accounting in Colorado. She is a graduate of MATC/Kansas State and an active member of the Waterville Rotary Club. When Sarah isn’t preparing tax returns and managing the One River CPAs bookkeeping department, you are likely to find her enjoying the outdoors. Her hobbies include hiking, gardening, yoga, and when tax season isn’t thrilling enough, skydiving!
Her new position will be to help facilitate the day-to-day operations of our office. She will be guiding staff decision making, managing client relations, and facilitating internal communications. She will also continue her work growing and managing the bookkeeping department through consulting, QuickBooks, payroll, and monthly bookkeeping services. She will of course also continue to dedicate her time to helping individuals and businesses with their yearly tax returns.
Please be sure to send Sarah a big congratulations on her new position!
