Let’s face it, education is expensive. In my last article, I touched on 529 plans , and now there are even better reasons to open this account for your child or grandchild.
The State of Maine offers several grants to Maine residents who open a 529 plan after July, 2013. There is an automatic $200 grant for opening the account, as well as a 50% matching contribution from the state up to $100 for 10 years. Another $50 grant is available if you choose automatic contribution payments.
