Q & A…
Why do you do what you do?
I have always loved math and found out I enjoyed accounting at a young age from helping my mother with various parts of her tax service. It just comes together like a puzzle for me, trying to find out what fits where and the why behind it all. It gives me a sense of pride to be able to help others with something that I enjoy and makes coming to work every day exciting with the possibility of learning something new.
What do you do on April 16th?
I think I will spend April 16th at camp with my dog enjoying a nice book. It doesn’t get much more relaxing than that.
What is your favorite movie?
Shawshank Redemption. My favorite quote comes from this movie. “I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy living or get busy dying.” The movie shows the timeless themes of redemption, hope and strength of mankind, where the quote speaks to the decision of either moving forward to better yourself and your life, or staying stagnant. I try to choose to move forward towards my goals every day and the quote just encompasses that.
What is something people might not know about you?
I am the youngest old lady there is. My ideal night is coming home and watching jeopardy, enjoying a nice dinner and either playing a few games of cribbage with my boyfriend or working on a puzzle or a blanket I am making.
What is one of your biggest accomplishments?
So far, it is getting my MBA, but hopefully within the near future it will be getting my CPA and going from there.
Best advice you ever received?
The best advice I have received is from my grandmother. She always preached to be myself no matter how goofy it may be. It makes life more interesting and enjoyable when you live with the mindset to please yourself and not others.
Always be undoubtedly you.
